The Team

TH Bender was founded by Tilman Bender in 2005, seven years after he started recruiting executives tasked with growing and guiding the American subsidiaries of European and Asian companies. Prior to his work in executive search, Tilman worked in Germany and Hong Kong for electronics and automotive manufacturers and a foundation supporting German companies setting up overseas sales channels.

TH Bender’s team of 15 experienced professionals is highly cohesive and has an exceptionally strong focus on research and the development of new candidates, leveraging the firm’s carefully curated in-house database of 280,000 former prospects and candidates.

The team is driven by a strong commitment to the success of each client, knowing well that the success of a subsidiary in the United States (or Canada) rests on the quality of each team member. Approach

Our personal network (which was built over 20 years) lets us tap into the hidden talent pool – the many excellent employees who are not visible or will not respond to an inquiry unless a personal referral opens the door. But, the often not appreciated truth is that original research, often within very narrow sectors and niches, is key to a successful search.

Our philosophy is to cast a fine net very wide and very deep, evaluate the available talent pool and only after comparing them recommend 3-5 finalists worth our client’s time. The result of each assignment, almost without fail, is that our clients are very comfortable with two of the finalists we present in the first presentation round and the extended offer is accepted.
